2017 was like a long tidying-up session after the destruction of 2016. I had large aspirations (to have children and get a job) and although these goals did not manifest this year, I came closer to them than ever. 2017 started by bringing me fully into humanity as a normal person, and ended with me getting confirmed for a job. Two of my biggest fears as a man (that I could never have a normal relationship and could not get a suitable job) were destroyed. However, my car and my life at Leeds were also destroyed.

In short, 2017 was a Pyrrhic victory.
