2013 was absolutely the new best year in my life at the time. It was a year that presented me with plenty of opportunity, perhaps that I would never find again, but, on a darker note, I was too inexperienced to realise.

I was saved from potential ruin (and, at one time, a literal death) by Valerie, who took the time to listen to me when nobody else did, but it was never quite enough, even though I went further than I had ever gone before in life. From that point, the Overgod and Overgoddess started to respect me again as someone at least capable of a relationship, and I was shown proof that all is not lost.

The origins of version 2 of my blog, and the idea of publishing my diaries online, are fixed in 2013. Partly so I can make my life visible, because my experiences are something beautiful that need to be shared and contained rather than forgotten, and partly to share almost everything I know about life with anyone who will listen. It is my first personal megaproject, and, if it was a book, it would say “For Valerie” at the start. Well, her real name anyway.
